Founder
Matt brings nearly 15 years of experience in real estate investment, legal advisory, and development to his role as co-founder of Wayland. Before founding Wayland, he was a Managing Director at The John Buck Company, a vertically integrated developer of institutional-grade office and multifamily assets. There, he led the formation and capitalization of approximately $450 million in joint ventures and commingled investment vehicles and continues to serve the firm as an independent advisor. Prior to joining JBC, Matt practiced law at Skadden Arps, where he led the closing of over $5 billion in real estate transactions. He holds a degree in political science from Northwestern University and a JD from Northwestern Law, and holds post-graduate certificates in asset valuation, investment, and development from Michigan’s Ross School of Business, Wharton, and MIT.

With 25 years of experience in real estate investment and asset management, Jason has led the strategy and stewardship of portfolios across asset classes and geographies. Before co-founding Wayland, he served as managing principal of AC Properties and its affiliates—a collection of family-owned real estate holding companies formed through periodic spin-offs from family-run operating businesses, and totaling more than 300,000 square feet of multi-tenant commercial assets across the U.S. Earlier in his career, Jason served as Vice President at HELIX Commercial Real Estate, an Arizona-based full-service real estate firm. There, he led the development and asset management of projects totaling over 300 residential units, 50,000 square feet of office, and 100,000 square feet of industrial space. He holds a degree in business administration from the University of Miami.

Marc’s career spans over two decades in mixed-use and residential planning, development, and investment. Prior to co-founding Wayland, he was a principal at Klutznick Enterprises, where he led the development of more than two million square feet of mixed-use projects. The Klutznick family has played a prominent role in American real estate since the 1940s, with landmark contributions including Old Orchard Shopping Center, Oakbrook Center, and Water Tower Place. At Klutznick Enterprises, Marc also sourced limited partnership and co-GP investments across asset classes and served as Managing Director of KP Residential, a Los Angeles–based luxury single-family home developer. Marc studied business administration at the University of Miami and earned a degree in film studies from Columbia College.
